It simply isn’t the Brit Awards without some awkward jokes, bizarre appearances, and a little bit of ‘outrage’.
And last night’s (March 1) ceremony at London’s O2 arena fit the bill ceremony.
After pop princess Sabrina Carpenter opened the show with an ‘outrageous performance' – AKA, she wore underwear while singing her bop about having good ‘Bed Chem’ – Charli XCX called out ITV for ‘complaining about her nipples’.
The most nominated artist of the night, the BRAT star won the biggest awards of the Brits including album and song of the year.
But as she picked up artist of the year, Charli did not shy away from making a claim against the broadcaster.

Throughout the night, viewers at home had to experience silent sections of the show as conversations and speeches were muted due to their content, even past 9pm.
And the ‘360’ singer accused ITV of having a problem with her outfit for the night.
“I heard that ITV were complaining about my nipples,” she said as she collected the award. “I feel like we’re in the era of free the nipple though, right?”
Charli wore an incredible sheer black dress for the Brits from Dilara Fındıkoğlu’s fall 2025 collection. And the ‘Guess’ singer left little for us to, well, guess, as it revealed her black underwear and a nude corset underneath.
When applause started following her comment, the 32-year-old said: “They put the clap track on, cool. Thanks for being on my side.”
Her first win of the night was in fact for ‘Guess’ as she thanked Billie Eilish for her guest vocals on the track.
“This is cool, I'm really happy that a song about underwear now has a Brit award, very important stuff,” the Essex star said drily.

And when picking up her fifth and final award of the night, best album, she told the cheering audience how she had ‘always felt like an outsider’ in the industry.
“Culture caught up with us and wanted to be on the journey with us - I am living proof that it takes a long time, but you don't need to compromise your vision,” Charli said.
One victim of ITV’s censoring of the broadcast wasn’t much of a surprise though – Danny Dyer.
Chatting to host Jack Whitehall, the actor went on to let rip at international leaders, saying the 'world is being run by b******s', before directly taking aim at Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Sat next to a ‘horse’, he apparently branded the Labour leader 'b****** of the year'. Ouch.
LADbible has contacted ITV and Dyer for comment.
