There's nothing worse than being stuck in the middle when you're mates have fallen out.
Just ask Joe Rogan, who didn't know where to look when Donald Trump and Elon Musk's social media spat started to unfold while he was recording his podcast.
In an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, which was recorded on Thursday (5 June) before being released 24 hours later, the UFC commentator sat down with FBI Director Kash Patel.
Coincidentally, the pair had been chatting about conspiracy theories surrounding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein's suicide, which comes just weeks after Patel vowed to release more information on the case.
"I’m not saying every single camera in the place was working," Patel said. "I’m saying we’ve got footage and you’re getting it, and then you can make up your own mind."
Rogan's producer then politely interrupted their conversation to inform them that the US President and Musk were engaging in a brutal back and forth online.

He told the host and Patel: "This is going to come up because it's been going on since we've been recording here...Elon and Trump seem to be in a bit of a spat, Joe."
Rogan then read out the damning allegation which Musk made about Trump supposedly being mentioned in the Epstein files.
The Space X boss wrote: "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"
As you can probably imagine, Rogan's face was quite the picture.
Take a look at his reaction here - but beware, the clip does contain some strong language:
"Jesus Christ," he said. "What is he...have a nice day? Someone should take his phone away. Jesus Christ, that's a crazy thing to say.
"How does he know? Does he know that Donald Trump is in the Epstein files? Does he have access to the Epstein files? What the f**k are they doing?
"I understand he owns Twitter - I think it's bad for your mental health. I think posting things public all day and arguing with people all day is bad for you."
Meanwhile, Patel appeared to be in a similar flap himself - but the head of the FBI said he was keeping his mouth shut.
The former federal prosecutor told Rogan: "I'm not participating in any of that conversation. I'm just staying out of the Trump/Elon thing, that's way outside my lane. I know my lane and that ain't it."

Democrats later sent Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi a letter demanding that they clarify the validity of Musk's bombshell claim about Trump.
Congressmen Robert Garcia and Stephen Lynch wrote: "We write with profound alarm at allegations that files relating to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have not been declassified and released to the American public because they personally implicate President Trump.
"We ask that you immediately clarify whether this allegation is true and respond to this letter with the requested information and documentation."
Patel and Bondi were given a deadline of 20 June to respond.
